The JBL Flip 6 is the better-sounding pick. A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size, a huge sound quality leap over the JBL Flip 5. It links with other speakers (PartyBoost up to 100 speakers), which the Tribit Stormbox 2 cannot. The catch: Some slight upper mids emphasis.
The Tribit Stormbox 2 is the longer-running option. A little better sounding than the original Tribit Stormbox, less of a rolled off treble. It is rated for 24 hours of battery against 12 for the JBL Flip 6. It keeps a wired aux input, which the JBL Flip 6 lacks. The tradeoff: Drivers on the side, so it will have a rolled off treble listening to it face on.
Buy the JBL Flip 6. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the $9.96 you would save on the Tribit Stormbox 2 does not close the gap.

Cons: Not stereo. Some slight upper mids emphasis. The TL version (made in Vietnam) tweeter can sound somewhat scratchy and doesn’t sound as good as the GG version (made in China)
