JBL Flip 6 vs Tribit Maxsound Plus

Last updated: October 3, 2026

Short answer: the JBL Flip 6. It ranks #12 of 157 medium speakers by sound quality (rated 4.2/5) at $114.95 and is still sold new; the Tribit Maxsound Plus ranks #22 (rated 4.1/5) and is discontinued, so it is only an option used.

JBL Flip 6 vs Tribit Maxsound Plus

What the JBL Flip 6 does well: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size, a huge sound quality leap over the Flip 5. It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the Tribit Maxsound Plus lacks. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Tribit Maxsound Plus lacks. It charges over USB-C rather than Micro USB. The tradeoff: Some slight upper mids emphasis.

The Tribit Maxsound Plus is the longer-running option. Use XBass mode for flattest frequency response and balanced audio reproduction. It is rated for 20 hours of battery against 12 for the JBL Flip 6. It keeps a wired aux input, which the JBL Flip 6 lacks. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the JBL Flip 6. Watch for: Slightly less deep bass than modern class leaders.

Buy the JBL Flip 6. It is rated higher for sound quality and still sold new, while the Tribit Maxsound Plus is discontinued.
