JBL Flip 6 vs Soundcore 3

Last updated: October 3, 2026

Short answer: the JBL Flip 6. It ranks #12 of 157 medium speakers by sound quality, rated 4.2/5, at $114.95. The Soundcore 3 ranks #62, rated 3.4/5, at $59.99, $54.96 cheaper, which does not close the gap in sound quality.

JBL Flip 6 vs Soundcore 3

The Flip 6 is the more accurate speaker. A separate 16mm tweeter beside its racetrack woofer makes it one of the most neutral speakers its size, reaching about 56Hz before falling 10dB. It is rated IP67, supports AAC and links with up to 100 JBL speakers through PartyBoost. It is mono, and its battery is rated for 12 hours.

The Soundcore 3 is the lighter, longer-running budget pick. Two 38mm titanium drivers and two passive radiators play in stereo from one unit, Alan Ross measured 99dB, and it claims 24 hours of battery at 0.8 lbs (372 g). Its bass stops sooner, around 60Hz (-10dB), but it has an app with EQ and PartyCast linking. It is sold as the Soundcore Select 2 at some retailers.

Buy the JBL Flip 6. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the $54.96 saving on the Soundcore 3 is not enough to make up the difference.

Pros: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size, a huge sound quality leap over the Flip 5. Measured bass extension of 56Hz (-10dB).
