The JBL Flip 6 is the better-sounding, lighter choice. A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size, a huge sound quality leap over the JBL Flip 5. At 1.2 lbs (544 g) it weighs much less than the JBL Charge 2 at 2.4 lbs (1.1 kg). It is rated IP67 against IPX5 for the JBL Charge 2. It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the JBL Charge 2 lacks. The tradeoff: Some slight upper mids emphasis.
Why pick the JBL Charge 2: Doubles as a 6000mAh power bank. ~10-12 hour battery life. It keeps a wired aux input, which the JBL Flip 6 lacks. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the JBL Flip 6. The catch: Bass compression at higher volumes.
Buy the JBL Flip 6. It is rated higher for sound quality and still sold new, while the JBL Charge 2 is discontinued.

Cons: Not stereo. Some slight upper mids emphasis. The TL version (made in Vietnam) tweeter can sound somewhat scratchy and doesn’t sound as good as the GG version (made in China)
