Short answer: the JBL Flip 6. It ranks #13 of 177 medium speakers by sound quality (rated 4.2/5) at $79.95 and is still sold new; the Huawei Sound Joy ranks #40 (rated 3.8/5) and is discontinued, so it is only an option used. The Huawei Sound Joy’s replacement, the Huawei Sound Joy 2, is rated 3.5/5 at $154.73.
The Flip 6 is the more neutral, current speaker. Its separate 16mm tweeter makes it one of the most neutral speakers in its size class, it reaches about 56Hz before falling 10dB, and it supports AAC, a 3-band EQ and PartyBoost. Its battery is rated for 12 hours.
The Sound Joy is discontinued but has the bigger battery. A racetrack woofer, a 19mm silk tweeter and two passive radiators reach the same 56Hz before falling 10dB, Alan Ross measured 100dB, and it claims 26 hours. Its treble is boosted, so the Devialet preset with +6dB sounds best.
Buy the JBL Flip 6. It is rated higher for sound quality; the Huawei Sound Joy is no longer sold new.
