The Go 4 adds a little more bass than the Go 3 and fixes its strange mids peak, but bass is still limited, especially with bass-heavy tracks pushed past ~50% volume. The Clip 5 adds a JBL Portable app with custom EQ, though its sound is more of the same from the Clip series.
Buy the JBL Clip 5. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the $10 you would save on the JBL Go 4 does not close the gap.
