Short answer: the JBL Clip 5 for the app EQ, the Go 3 for pocket size. The Go 3 is genuinely pocket-sized at 0.5 lbs (209 g) but has not much bass at all and a strange mids peak. The Clip 5 adds a JBL Portable app with custom EQ, though its sound is more of the same from the Clip series.
Buy the JBL Clip 5. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the $20 saving on the JBL Go 3 is not enough to make up the difference.
