The Sonic Boom Ultra is a bigger, three-way box. A 6x9-inch racetrack woofer, two 4.5-inch midranges and two tweeters reach bass down to around 30Hz, and in one enthusiast comparison it played 3 to 5dB louder than the Boombox 4. It keeps an aux input and adds HDMI ARC for TV use. It weighs 24.3 lbs (11 kg), gets noisy near full volume, and its custom EQ cuts bass and does not save.
The Boombox 4 is smaller and tougher. At 13.2 lbs (5.98 kg) it weighs about half as much, it is rated IP68, and Alan Ross measured 115dB, huge output for its size. It claims 28 hours of battery and links with current JBL speakers over Auracast. It sounds worse than the Boombox 3 out of the box, so use its 7-band EQ, and it has no aux input.
Buy the Yeahbox Sonic Boom Ultra. It is rated higher for sound quality than the JBL Boombox 4 and costs less, so only choose the other one for a particular feature it does better.
