Short answer: the SVS SB-3000, if you are buying new. The HSU Research VTF-15H measures as well as it (#94 vs #15 of 212 subwoofers, 4.1/5 vs 4.1/5) but is discontinued, so only consider it used; the SVS SB-3000 is still sold new at $1,199. The HSU Research VTF-15H’s replacement, the HSU Research VTF-TN1, is rated 3.9/5 at $1,249.
The case for the SVS SB-3000: 13-inch sealed with 800W RMS (2500W peak) delivers 118.7dB average with exceptional accuracy. The tradeoff: Ported cabinet room-mode dependency, compact 25 kg (55.1 lbs) size limits bass extension, and a $1,199 investment.
Buy the SVS SB-3000, since the HSU Research VTF-15H is discontinued and only worth hunting down used.
