Short answer: the JBL Partybox Club 120. It ranks #6 of 53 party speakers by sound quality, rated 4.5/5, at $399.95; the Hisense Party Thunder Pro ranks #19, rated 3.9/5, and costs $399.99, which makes this an easy call rather than a real tradeoff.
The Hisense Party Thunder Pro is the longer-running option. A 620W party tower on wheels with a wireless mic, an 18 hour battery, Auracast and a light show. It is rated for 18 hours of battery against 12 for the JBL Partybox Club 120. The tradeoff: AudioTribe’s tests favor its rivals on sound: the JBL Partybox Stage 320 ran 4 dBA louder (104.1 vs 99.9) with about 4 dB more at 50Hz, and the Sony SRS-XV800 sounded better with about 6 dB more at 50Hz.
The JBL Partybox Club 120 is the better-sounding, lighter option. A party speaker on wheels with quite neutral sound, a removable battery, and mic and guitar inputs. At 23.8 lbs (10.8 kg) it weighs noticeably less than the Hisense Party Thunder Pro at 37 lbs (16.8 kg). The catch: High price, and JBL’s wired daisy chain only works with other JBL speakers.
Buy the JBL Partybox Club 120. It is rated higher for sound quality than the Hisense Party Thunder Pro and costs less, which makes it the one to get unless you need something the other one does better.
