The case for the Diamondboxx M3: A compact, very loud boombox with a powerful amplifier and a choice of large battery packs. The tradeoff: Despite its output, bass does not reach as deep as the best large portables and can distort when pushed hard.
The Demerbox DB2 is the lighter, tougher option. A nearly indestructible waterproof speaker built from a Pelican case, with a 40 hour battery and dry storage. At 5.4 lbs (2.47 kg) it weighs much less than the Diamondboxx M3 at 11 lbs (5 kg). It is rated IP67, while the Diamondboxx M3 has no water resistance. The tradeoff: Bass is not as deep as better speakers.
Buy the Diamondboxx M3 or the Demerbox DB2, whichever you find used in better condition; both are discontinued. For a new speaker, start with the Tribit Stormbox Blast instead.
