Short answer: the Demerbox DB2, though neither is a strong pick in this class. They rank #64 and #83 out of 89 boombox speakers, and the Turtlebox Gen 3 costs $30 more. Both are rated below 3.0/5 among the 89 boombox speakers, so if sound quality matters, consider the Tribit Stormbox Blast instead, ranked #2 at $179.99.
The Demerbox DB2 is built from an actual Pelican case, which makes it nearly indestructible and waterproof at IP67, and it doubles as a power bank and a dry storage container. Battery life is rated at 40-plus hours, though real-world use with some phone charging mixed in brings that down closer to 14 hours. Its own cons are narrow: bass is not as deep as better speakers, and it is priced higher than what it delivers.
The Turtlebox Gen 3 has a longer list of problems. Its own notes say it sounds basically identical to the original Turtlebox and the Gen 2, meaning each generation mainly added features rather than sound quality, and that it sounds poor in the YouTube sound samples reviewers have posted. It also will not hit its claimed 120dB output at a normal one-meter measuring distance, has barely any bass, and can rattle at higher volume. One reviewer video is titled directly “EXPOSING This $430 Waterproof Speaker.” Visually and mechanically it is built around what looks like a generic car-audio 6x9 driver in a plastic box, rather than the Pelican-case build of the DB2.
Everything else matches: both are rated IP67, both support stereo pairing and TWS, and neither includes an app or onboard EQ.
Buy the Demerbox DB2 if you want the more durable build and the power-bank function, and can accept a higher price for what it does.
Buy the Turtlebox Gen 3 only if the multi-speaker party mode matters more to you than sound quality. Its own reviews are blunt that it falls well short of its advertised output and bass.
If battery life is a priority, the Demerbox DB2 is rated for 40 hours versus 25 hours for the Turtlebox Gen 3.

Turtlebox Gen 3: $430.00 Amazon eBay
Older models: the Turtlebox Gen 2 (ranked lower, rated 2.1/5) and the Turtlebox (ranked lower, rated 2.1/5).
Pros: Waterproof (IP67, and it floats) and crushproof, with stainless steel hardware and quality amplifier parts inside. Loud for its class: Williston Audio Labs measured 102 dB at max volume, well above a Kicker BF400’s 96 dB. A big 85Wh battery rated for 25+ hours, a USB-C output that charges other devices, aux and microphone inputs, and true multi-speaker Party Mode on top of stereo pairing, plus Bluetooth 5.4. Measured bass extension of ~65Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Sounds basically identical to the original and the Gen 2: each generation mainly added features, not sound quality. The amp is tuned to a V shape, with boosted lows and highs and a dip in the mids, but the boost can’t make up for shallow extension: the bass is only down 10dB at about 65Hz, so there’s little real low end despite the boomy upper bass. The amp delivers only about 12W RMS at 1% distortion. In Williston Audio Labs’ side by side test most listeners preferred the much smaller Kicker BF400 for its cleaner sound, and a Pioneer PBM5 played louder at 105 dB. Nowhere near its claimed 120dB at a reasonable measuring distance. Rattles at high volume. It charges only from its own 15V barrel plug brick, not USB-C, and has no app or EQ. Inside is essentially a car audio 6x9 two way speaker in a plastic box.
