Dali Katch G2 vs JBL Xtreme 3

Last updated: September 1, 2026

Short answer: the JBL Xtreme 3. It ranks #18 of 77 large speakers by sound quality at $269.95; the Dali Katch G2 ranks #58 and costs $750, so there is not much of a tradeoff to weigh.

What the Dali Katch G2 gets right: Pretty neutral The catch: Loses bass quickly after 40% volume. A lot of compression artifacts at high volume. External AC power brick for charging. Horribly overpriced. Nearly identical to the Dali Katch G1. Reverb added to the output screws up the imaging.

On the JBL Xtreme 3 side: Better treble and deeper bass than the Xtreme 2. More balanced sounding than the Xtreme 4 The tradeoff: Boosted bass. Not as deep bass as better speakers. Not as balanced as better speakers.

Buy the JBL Xtreme 3. It ranks higher for sound quality than the Dali Katch G2 and costs less, so the other one has nothing left to offer.

If sound quality matters at all to you, skip the Dali Katch G2. It ranks near the bottom of the 77 large speakers, so look higher up the list instead.

There is a real battery-life gap here: the Dali Katch G2 is rated for 30 hours, the JBL Xtreme 3 only 15 hours.
