Bose Soundlink Micro vs Tribit Stormbox Micro 2

Last updated: August 8, 2026

Short answer: the Stormbox Micro 2, and it’s cheaper too. It ranks #1 of 47 small speakers at $50; the Soundlink Micro ranks #19 at $90, $40 more.

The Bose trades accuracy for ruggedness. IP67 rated and genuinely pocketable at 0.68 lb, but our notes describe a lack of clarity and overly boosted bass.

The Micro 2 is described as best in class, with much deeper bass than most speakers its size and a genuinely neutral tuning, plus a built-in strap that doubles as a stand. Its only real flaw is finicky phone charging.

Buy the Stormbox Micro 2. It’s the class leader and costs less than the Bose.

Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 ranking card

Pros: Best in class sound. Much deeper bass than most other speakers in the size. Built in strap is super useful for attaching it to things. Very neutral. To have it aimed directly at you unclip the strap and the speaker will sit upright with a slight lean back.

Cons: Finicky phone charging, which doesn’t usually work.

Setup: Use in Music EQ mode, when you switch to custom it’s not able to boost the bass properly as it is missing an EQ band that Music EQ mode uses
