Bose Soundlink Micro vs Minirig Mini 2

Last updated: August 8, 2026

Short answer: the Minirig Mini 2, for ten dollars more. It ranks #3 of 47 small speakers at $100; the Soundlink Micro ranks #19 at $90.

The Bose trades accuracy for ruggedness. IP67 rated and genuinely pocketable at 0.68 lb, but our notes describe a lack of clarity and overly boosted bass, the opposite of what the Mini 2 is praised for.

The Mini 2 is described as very neutral with much deeper bass than most speakers its size, and it’s modular: you can attach an add-on subwoofer later. Its real weaknesses are a water rating that’s marketed rather than certified, and an app and TWS pairing our notes call buggy.

Buy the Minirig Mini 2 for the more accurate sound and the modular upgrade path. Buy the Soundlink Micro if certified water resistance and Bose’s durability matter more than tonal accuracy.
