These are not really the same size class, and that is the honest framing here. The B&O Beosound 2 ranks #7 of 10 powered desktop speakers by sound quality at $4,000; the Sonos Roam ranks #96 of 175 medium speakers by sound quality at $169.99.
The B&O Beosound 2 is the deeper-bass pick. A beautifully made, compact Wi-Fi speaker with omnidirectional playback, Chromecast, AirPlay, Bluetooth with AAC/aptX, optical and aux inputs, app EQ, voice control and Beolink multiroom. Its bass reaches about 45Hz before falling 10dB, against 63Hz for the Sonos Roam. It supports aptX Bluetooth, which the Sonos Roam lacks. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Sonos Roam lacks. The catch: Its bass-forward balance can recess the mids, and its 94dB maximum level is modest for a speaker intended to fill larger spaces.
The Sonos Roam is the battery-powered pick. Very neutral. Its battery is rated for 10 hours, while the B&O Beosound 2 needs an outlet. The tradeoff: Bass extension isn’t very good.
One note: the Sonos Roam is discontinued and no longer widely available new. The Sonos Roam’s replacement, the Sonos Roam 2, is still sold new.
Buy the B&O Beosound 2 at $4,000 if you want a powered desktop speaker. Buy the Sonos Roam at $169.99 if you want a medium speaker instead.

Pros: Very neutral. IP67 rated at ~1 lb. Wireless (Qi) charging: rare for a portable speaker. Works with Alexa/Sonos Voice Control and the wider Sonos ecosystem over Wi-Fi. Measured bass extension of 63Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Bass extension isn’t very good. Not stereo. Gets distorted if you turn up the bass. Discontinued.
