#66 Yamaha NS-SW050: $219.95 Estimated Amazon eBay
Same family: the Yamaha NS-SW100 (larger subwoofer, ranked higher, rated 3/5).
Pros: Yamaha’s smallest home subwoofer, with an 8” cone, Advanced YST II servo amplification and a Twisted Flare Port to reduce port noise. Rated 28 to 200Hz in a cabinet 29cm wide.
Cons: No independent measurements yet, so its output can’t be compared directly with ranked subwoofers; the rating is estimated from the measured NS-SW100, which reached only 105.0dB in the 40 to 80Hz CEA-2010 bands. With an 8” driver and 50W it is suited to small rooms and modest levels.
