Newer model: the Thomann Swissonic A306, rated 4.3/5 (also discontinued).
Pros: A low cost DSP monitor with a 5.25” woofer, 1” silk tweeter and 80W of class D power, with FIR filtering and low and high frequency trims. Erin’s Audio Corner measured a smooth predicted in-room response (0.79) and bass to 51.3Hz (-3dB), for a preference score of 5.21 that reaches 7.41 with an ideal subwoofer. Measured bass extension of 51.3Hz (-3dB).
Cons: On-axis response is moderately uneven (0.68dB average deviation) and the listening window spans 3.4dB from 300Hz to 5kHz. Maximum output is rated at only 96dB. Replaced by the A306. Discontinued.
How it compares: Just above it: JBL LSR305 - $70 cheaper, 2W more output power. Just below it: IK Multimedia iLoud MTM - $580 more, 20W more output power.
