Pros: A true 3-way active monitor with a beryllium tweeter and Focal’s Dual Focus switching (1-way/2-way/3-way modes), genuinely distinct from Focal’s own 2-way Solo6 ST6 and 2.5-way Twin6 designs. Measures a -3dB extension of 37.8Hz from the 8” woofer, and its directivity-index standard deviation of 2.62 is unusually tight and consistent for an active monitor.
Cons: On-axis smoothness of 0.363 and sound-power smoothness of just 0.135 are rough, and a pronounced -0.41dB per octave downward tilt gives it a notably dark tonal balance, with predicted in-room smoothness of just 0.26. It’s priced well above Focal’s own Solo6 at a similar measured preference score.
