MartinLogan Motion 35XTi - ranked #143 of 188 Large Size Bookshelf Speakers · Editor's rating 3.4/5

#143 MartinLogan Motion 35XTi: $1,500 per pair Discontinued Estimated eBay

Newer model: the MartinLogan Motion XT B100, ranked higher, rated 3.6/5.

Pros: A two-way bookshelf speaker with MartinLogan’s 1.25” x 2.4” Folded Motion XT tweeter and a 6.5” aluminum woofer. Sensitivity is high at 92dB, so modest amplifiers drive it loud.

Cons: Audioholics’ measurements stop at 200Hz, so it has no preference score; the rating is estimated from that data and its measured successor, the Motion XT B100. Directivity is less even than most (3.96 sound power DI deviation), and the load is 4 ohms. Discontinued.

How it compares: Just above it: Polk Reserve R100 - $191 cheaper, 7Hz lower bass extension (-3dB). Just below it: Elac BS 314 - 4.5Hz lower bass extension (-3dB).
