Pros: A three-way center with two compression drivers on horns (a 3” aluminum midrange and a 1” titanium tweeter) above two 8” woofers. Audio Science Review measured an exceptionally flat on-axis response (0.11 average deviation), and 90dB sensitivity with compression drivers gives it high clean output. Measured bass extension of 77.6Hz (-3dB).
Cons: Off-axis behavior is weaker: the predicted in-room response is only moderately smooth (0.60) and horizontal coverage is about ±35 degrees, so its preference score is 3.66 without a subwoofer. Bass rolls off at 77.6Hz (-3dB) and about 53Hz (-10dB). The Synthesis Array line is discontinued.
