Newer model: the Emotiva Airmotiv XC1, ranked higher, estimated 3.6/5.
Pros: A three-way center with a 32mm Airmotiv folded ribbon tweeter, a 3” midrange and two 5.25” woofers. Erin’s Audio Corner measured wide horizontal coverage (about ±60 degrees) and a listening window within 2.8dB from 300Hz to 5kHz, and the score reaches 6.15 with an ideal subwoofer. Measured bass extension of 112.8Hz (-3dB).
Cons: Bass rolls off very early, at 112.8Hz (-3dB) and about 67Hz (-10dB), so it needs a subwoofer crossed over high, and its score without one is 2.71. The 4 ohm load suits a capable receiver. Emotiva replaced it with the Airmotiv XC1. Discontinued.
