#60 Electro-Voice MTS-6154: $23,483.00 Passive SoundPro $23,483.00 eBay
Pros: The cardioid version of the Electro-Voice MTS-4153 uses two rear-firing 15-inch woofers to cancel bass behind the box, and the on-axis response is very even in vendor measurements (0.21dB average deviation). Measured bass extension of 63Hz (-3dB).
Cons: Scores are 1.27 on its own and 4.02 with an ideal subwoofer, held back by uneven directivity (4.84dB variation) and a rough predicted in-room response (0.42 smoothness). At 196kg it is an engineered stadium installation that needs external amplifiers.
