#2 DB Audiotechnik 42S Passive Estimated eBay
Same family: the DB Audiotechnik 4S (smaller model, ranked lower, estimated 3.2/5), the DB Audiotechnik 44S (larger model, rated 3.6/5), the DB Audiotechnik 5S (larger model, ranked lower, estimated 3.3/5), the DB Audiotechnik 8S (larger model, rated 3.1/5), the DB Audiotechnik 10S (larger model, rated 3.7/5), the DB Audiotechnik 12S (larger model, rated 3.8/5) and the DB Audiotechnik 24S (larger model, rated 3.8/5).
Pros: A passive installation loudspeaker from d&b’s xS-Series alongside the measured DB Audiotechnik 44S and DB Audiotechnik 8S: the newest ultra-compact model, with a single 4.5” woofer and 120° x 90° dispersion. d&b rates it at 117dB maximum SPL with a range of 77Hz - 20kHz (-5dB) when driven by its matched d&b amplifier presets.
Cons: No independent measurements yet, so it can’t be compared with ranked PA speakers. It is meant to run from d&b amplifiers with the matching preset and is sold only through d&b dealers, so there is no retail price.
