#131 Stax SR-009 Discontinued eBay
Newer model: the Stax SR-009S, ranked lower, rated 3.7/5, released Apr 2018. See every Stax SR-009 generation.
Pros: Measured response gives it a very good Harman preference score of 79 with a 2.62 dB spread, and its mids sit within about 0.5 dB of target, so vocals and instruments sound natural.
Cons: Discontinued, so it is mainly found used. Sub-bass is 9.5 dB short at 30 Hz, so deep bass lacks rumble. Treble sits about 5.7 dB low, so it sounds a little dark.
