#172 OpenAudio OA112: $351.99 HiFiGo $351.99 eBay

Pros: A hybrid with one dynamic driver and two balanced armatures whose bass through the 1 to 2 kHz range stays within about 1.3 dB of target, with a slightly bright tilt. 110 dB SPL/mW sensitivity makes it easy to drive.

Cons: Presence is uneven, with a 4.6 dB dip near 2.6 kHz, a peak near 4.3 kHz and a 5.4 dB peak near 8.2 kHz. The Truthear Nova rates much higher for less, and the score rests on a single measurement.

Frequency Response

How the OpenAudio OA112 measures across the audible range, against the Harman in-ear target that most listeners prefer in blind tests. Where the line sits above the target that range sounds louder (more bass, brighter treble), below it quieter. The curve is a single measurement, and both lines are shifted so their 500 Hz to 2 kHz average sits at 0 dB.
