#192 FiiO FT13: $328.99 Amazon $328.99 eBay
Pros: Closed back, with bass and sub-bass about 1.5 dB above target and a solid 30 Hz extension, so it isolates well and delivers weighty, warm low end. Squig.link hobbyist measurements give it a preference score of 74.4, and the midrange from 200 Hz to 3 kHz sits almost exactly on target, keeping voices and instruments natural. At 32 ohms and 98 dB/mW its big 60mm driver is easy to drive from a phone or laptop.
Cons: An 8.7 dB dip near 4 kHz pulls back presence, so vocals and guitar attack can sound veiled, and the 6 to 10 kHz treble also runs nearly 3 dB low. Air above 10 kHz then jumps 5.5 dB above target, adding a thin airy sheen rather than balanced detail. At 356 g it is a heavy headphone.
