Pros: Bass runs about 5 dB above target from 60 to 200 Hz in HypetheSonics’ measurement, giving a thick, punchy low end that suits listeners who like a V-shaped or warm sound. Eight balanced armatures at 15 ohms and 113 dB/mW sensitivity make it very easy to drive from a phone. Sub-bass holds within about 1 dB of target at 30 Hz, so deep synth lines still rumble.
Cons: Treble from 6 to 10 kHz sits nearly 6 dB above target with an 8.5 dB peak near 8.6 kHz, which can make cymbals and sibilance sharp and fatiguing at higher volume. Low mids are also about 3 dB heavy, which can cloud male vocals. The iBasso IT04 is rated higher at a similar price.
