The Sonic Boom Ultra is the loudest boombox in its group. A 6x9-inch racetrack woofer, two 4.5-inch midranges and two tweeters hit 106 to 107dB, about 3 to 5dB above the JBL Boombox 4, with bass audible down to around 30Hz. HDMI ARC lets it double as a TV speaker. It gets noisy above about 80 to 90 percent volume, its custom EQ cuts bass and does not save, and it weighs 24.3 lbs (11 kg).
The Sonic Boom Max 3 is the smaller, cheaper three-way. Five drivers on 200W give it strong bass and output for outdoor parties, with a 111Wh battery, USB-C fast charging and aux, USB and microSD playback. Listener comparisons find it less clear and refined than the better boomboxes, and its water rating is listed inconsistently. At 16.8 lbs (7.64 kg) it is lighter than the Ultra.
