XDOBO Wow Max vs Soundcore Boom 2 Plus

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Short answer: the XDOBO Wow Max. It ranks #21 of 91 boombox speakers by sound quality, rated 3.9/5, at $206.09. The Soundcore Boom 2 Plus ranks #36, rated 3.6/5, at $179.99, $26.10 cheaper, which does not close the gap in sound quality.

XDOBO Wow Max vs Soundcore Boom 2 Plus

Why pick the XDOBO Wow Max: Big, loud and bass-heavy, with an eight-driver, 300W layout and bass rated down to 32Hz. The catch: At low and mid volume the JBL Boombox 4 sounds better in the mids and highs; the Wow Max comes across slightly muted and bass forward there, with its midrange not aimed at ear level.

The Soundcore Boom 2 Plus is the longer-running, lighter option. Quite a bit lighter than most of the other boombox size speakers. It is rated for 20 hours of battery against 8 for the XDOBO Wow Max. At 8.4 lbs (3.8 kg) it weighs much less than the XDOBO Wow Max at 15.4 lbs (7 kg). Watch for: Warm tuning meaning a rolled off treble and some upper bass boost.

Buy the XDOBO Wow Max. It is rated higher for sound quality, and saving $26.10 with the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus does not make up for the sound-quality gap.

XDOBO Wow Max ranking card

Pros: Big, loud and bass-heavy, with an eight-driver, 300W layout and bass rated down to 32Hz. In side by side tests it sounded better balanced and clearer than the Zealot ZE21, with smooth mids and punchy yet deep bass, handled high volume better than the JBL Boombox 4, which gets screechy and drops bass at max, and clearly beat the Sony ULT Field 7 and W-King X20. Two wireless microphones are included, and it charges over USB-C at up to 20V.

Cons: At low and mid volume the JBL Boombox 4 sounds better in the mids and highs; the Wow Max comes across slightly muted and bass forward there, with its midrange not aimed at ear level. About 7 kg, and only a claimed 8 hours of battery.

Cons: Warm tuning meaning a rolled off treble and some upper bass boost. Reasonably deep bass, but not as good as the top ranked.
