Short answer: the ION Pathfinder 320, because it lasts far longer and costs well under half the price, though neither ranks well in its class. It runs a 100-hour battery at low to moderate volume and adds built-in wheels, a pull-out handle and FM radio with 16 presets. Its bass is not as deep as competitors, it is very heavy and its water rating is poor, while the Turtlebox G2 is the more rugged design but ranks near the bottom of the boombox class here. Both are rated below 3.0/5 among the 76 boombox speakers, and the Tribit Stormbox Blast, ranked #2 at $179.99, is a better place to start if sound quality matters.
Buy the ION Pathfinder 320. It is rated higher for sound quality than the Turtlebox Gen 2 and costs less, so only choose the other one for a particular feature it does better.
There is a real battery-life gap here: the ION Pathfinder 320 is rated for 100 hours, the Turtlebox Gen 2 only 25 hours.

Turtlebox Gen 2: $400 Discontinued eBay
Newer model: the Turtlebox Gen 3, rated 2.1/5.
Pros: Waterproof and crushproof, loud with punchy bass. 25 hour battery life (6 hours at full volume; 3 hour charge time). USB-C charging and USB-C output charges other devices, an upgrade over the original’s AC power brick. Pairs with a second unit for stereo. Measured bass extension of ~65Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Sounds basically identical to the original and the Gen 3: each generation mainly added features, not sound quality. They pretty much lie about all their specs and sound horrible in all youtube sound samples. Only 50w (from their indigogo page), will never hit 120db at a reasonable measuring distance. Putting your db meter right against the speaker doesn’t count, 1 meter distance is the standard. Barely any bass. Rattles at high volume. Looking at it, it appears to be a generic car 2-way 6x9 speaker in a plastic box. Discontinued.
