Short answer: the Tribit Stormbox Blast. It ranks #2 of 112 boombox speakers by sound quality (rated 4.5/5) at $179.99 and is still sold new; the Bumpboxx Flare 6 ranks #82 (rated 2.6/5) and is discontinued, so it is only an option used.
The Tribit Stormbox Blast is the better-sounding, longer-running choice. A boombox with bass and volume that rival bigger party speakers, quite neutral sound, and a 30 hour battery. It is rated for 30 hours of battery against 12 for the Bumpboxx Flare 6. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Bumpboxx Flare 6 lacks. Watch for: Lacks a bit of detail compared to the top ranked speakers in other size categories, dip at 5.5kHz.
What the Bumpboxx Flare 6 does well: A retro styled stereo party speaker with water resistance and a 12 hour battery. Watch for: There is no companion app.
Buy the Tribit Stormbox Blast. It is rated higher for sound quality and still sold new, while the Bumpboxx Flare 6 is discontinued.
