Tribit Stormbox Blast vs Bugani Brief Pro

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Short answer: the Tribit Stormbox Blast. It ranks #2 of 91 boombox speakers by sound quality, rated 4.5/5, at $179.99. The Bugani Brief Pro ranks #28, rated 3.8/5, at $99.98, $80.01 cheaper, not enough of a saving to outweigh the sound-quality gap.

Tribit Stormbox Blast vs Bugani Brief Pro

The Tribit Stormbox Blast is the better-sounding, longer-running option. Amazing speaker given its size, competes well with some speakers in the Party size class, bass almost as deep as a Partybox 100. It is rated for 30 hours of battery against 12 for the Bugani Brief Pro. The tradeoff: Lacks a bit of detail compared to the top ranked speakers in other size categories, dip at 5.5kHz.

The case for the Bugani Brief Pro: Crystal clear and detailed with good separation of instruments and vocals, impressive for a two-way layout of two 4” woofers and two 44mm tweeters on 80W RMS. The catch: It turns a little harsh and fatiguing at 80% to 100% volume while losing bass, and it doesn’t reach as deep as the Go + Play 3, which reviewers still preferred for its thicker, richer bass.

Buy the Tribit Stormbox Blast. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the $80.01 saving on the Bugani Brief Pro is not enough to make up the difference.

Newer model: the Tribit Stormbox Blast 2, ranked lower, rated 3.8/5.

Smaller models: the Tribit Stormbox Pro (rated 3.7/5), the Tribit Stormbox Flow (rated 3.5/5) and the Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 (rated 4.5/5).

Pros: Amazing speaker given its size, competes well with some speakers in the Party size class, bass almost as deep as a Partybox 100. Quite neutral in the default and xbass modes, but try Oluv’s EQ or Alan Ross’s EQ for a slightly more neutral sound. Oluv has mentioned v3.5 now uses his EQ as the defaults and sounds extremely good. 2 different light modes or can be turned off. Measured bass extension of 43Hz (-10dB).

Cons: Lacks a bit of detail compared to the top ranked speakers in other size categories, dip at 5.5kHz. Without the above EQ this speaker would rank around #4 in the rankings. The curved underside of the handle makes it a little harder to grip and can be uncomfortable to carry long distances.

Pros: Crystal clear and detailed with good separation of instruments and vocals, impressive for a two-way layout of two 4” woofers and two 44mm tweeters on 80W RMS. It plays louder than the Harman Kardon Go + Play 3 and, in side by side sound tests, many listeners preferred it to the JBL Xtreme 4 and found it close to the EarFun UBoom X. A claimed 12 hours of battery, Bluetooth 5.3 and stereo pairing, at a low price.

Cons: It turns a little harsh and fatiguing at 80% to 100% volume while losing bass, and it doesn’t reach as deep as the Go + Play 3, which reviewers still preferred for its thicker, richer bass. No published water rating.
