Short answer: the Tribit Stormbox Blast 2. It ranks #22 of 73 boombox speakers by sound quality at $300; the JBL Boombox ranks #46 and costs $399, which makes this an easy call rather than a real tradeoff.
What the Tribit Stormbox Blast 2 offers: Pretty deep bass. Watch for: Sounds quite muddy with the boosted lower and upper bass. Boosted treble around 6khz. Xbass mode makes it sound even more muddy. Nowhere near as neutral and balanced as the first Blast and a big downgrade unless you only care about max volume
What the JBL Boombox offers: Connect+ up to 100 speakers. Watch for: Treble isn’t very smooth
Buy the Tribit Stormbox Blast 2. It ranks higher for sound quality than the JBL Boombox and costs less, so there is no real case for the other one.
