Short answer: the Stormbox Blast 2 offers more bass depth and output for less money, but the Boombox 2 is the more restrained and proven design. Tribit’s 40Hz extension, 200W rating and 30-hour battery make it compelling on paper, yet its own tuning notes describe boosted bass and treble that make it muddy. JBL’s older Boombox 2 is also bass-heavy, but it is lighter, has PartyBoost, and avoids the Blast 2’s exaggerated Xbass presentation.
Buy the Tribit Stormbox Blast 2 if maximum bass, battery life and microphone inputs matter most, and you are prepared to use its EQ carefully.
Buy the JBL Boombox 2 if you prefer the lighter, more established outdoor speaker and can find this discontinued model at a sensible price.

Older model: the Tribit Stormbox Blast (ranked higher, rated 4.5/5).
Pros: Pretty deep bass. Measured bass extension of 40Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Sounds quite muddy with the boosted lower and upper bass. Boosted treble around 6kHz. Xbass mode makes it sound even more muddy. Nowhere near as neutral and balanced as the first Blast and a big downgrade unless you only care about max volume
