Short answer: the Tribit Stormbox Mini+, if you are buying new. The Tribit Maxsound Plus ranks higher than it (#22 vs #126 of 157 medium speakers, 4.1/5 vs 2.5/5) but is discontinued, so only consider it used; the Tribit Stormbox Mini+ is still sold new at $29.99.
The Tribit Maxsound Plus is the better-sounding, longer-running pick. Use XBass mode for flattest frequency response and balanced audio reproduction. It is rated for 20 hours of battery against 12 for the Tribit Stormbox Mini+. The tradeoff: Slightly less deep bass than modern class leaders.
What the Tribit Stormbox Mini+ does well: IPX7 waterproof, app support with EQ presets and AAC codec, true wireless stereo (TWS) capability, USB-C charging, built-in mic for calls, AUX input, microSD card playback. It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the Tribit Maxsound Plus lacks. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Tribit Maxsound Plus lacks. It charges over USB-C rather than Micro USB. The tradeoff: Not a great sounding speaker, really weak bass.
Buy the Tribit Stormbox Mini+ new; the Tribit Maxsound Plus is no longer sold new, so it only makes sense as a used find.
