Short answer: the Partybox 130 for most people - it’s far cheaper and actually digs a little deeper on bass despite being the smaller, less powerful speaker on paper. These rank #11 and #5 out of 50 party-size speakers, at $807.72 and $449.95, with the Rockster Neo costing $357.77 more.
Bass depth is the real surprise here. Our own notes on the Rockster Neo are blunt about it: its bass isn’t as deep as the Partybox 130’s, even though the Partybox 130 is smaller, lighter, and both are rated around 200W. Overall tuning on the Rockster Neo follows the same house sound as other Teufel speakers - solid, but not standout - and it doesn’t clearly beat a speaker less than half its price here.
The Partybox 130 also wins on convenience. It has a handle and wheels, a proper app with a 7-band EQ, and Auracast pairing - the Rockster Neo skips all of that in favor of professional-style connectivity: two XLR combo inputs, a guitar input, and a top-mounted microphone, aimed at plugging in real gear rather than just streaming from a phone.
The Rockster Neo’s advantage is battery life and weatherproofing. 36 hours (56 in Eco Mode) against the Partybox 130’s 15, and an IP44 rating against the Partybox 130’s IPX4 - a small but real edge in dust protection.
Buy the Partybox 130 unless you specifically need the Rockster Neo’s XLR-level inputs - it’s cheaper, more convenient, and doesn’t lose on bass. Buy the Rockster Neo only if the pro-audio connectivity and longer battery life justify the extra cost to you.
If battery life is a priority, the Teufel Rockster Neo is rated for 36 hours versus 15 hours for the JBL Partybox 130.

The Two Speakers In Full
Teufel Rockster Neo: $807.72
Pros: Similar tuning to the other Teufel speakers - pretty good, but not top of class.
Cons: Not quite as good sounding as the JBL Partybox 330 or Electro-Voice Everse 12. Bass isn’t as deep as the JBL Partybox 330 or even the JBL Partybox 130.

JBL Partybox 130: $449.95 Amazon
Pros: Handle and wheels are convenient. Customizable color lighting modes. Quite neutral sound. Removable battery.
Cons: Boomier and less clear than the Partybox 120. High price. Note, JBL daisychain is not compatible with any other non-JBL speaker and is possibly a fully digital signal.
