The Partybox 330 is the bigger, more powerful, more feature-rich of the two. It’s rated at 280W against the Rockster Air 2’s 80W, adds an optical TV input and lossless USB-C playback the Teufel doesn’t have, and comes with JBL’s app, EQ, wheels, a handle, and IPX4 splash resistance. It’s also the heaviest speaker in this comparison at 17.1 kg (37.7 lbs), and it costs $49.96 more than the Rockster Air 2.
The Rockster Air 2 counters with battery life and its off-axis dispersion. 58 hours against the Partybox 330’s 18, and a single horn-loaded tweeter built to hold its treble character together off-axis in a way dual-tweeter designs like the 330’s typically don’t. It also carries full XLR line and microphone inputs for plugging in real instruments or a mixer, on top of aux and guitar.

Older model: the Teufel Rockster Air (ranked lower, rated 3.4/5).
Pros: More consistent off-axis sound than the JBL Partybox 130, thanks to its single horn-loaded compression driver. Projects sound more evenly to the sides, unlike the JBL’s narrower front-firing dispersion. Cleaner instrument separation at high volume than the JBL Partybox 130, which turns anemic and loses bass at max volume despite its bass boost.
Cons: Bass isn’t as deep as the JBL Partybox 130’s boosted bass, though the JBL’s is boomy rather than truly deep. Bass and treble aren’t perfectly controlled at maximum volume - can sound hollow or too bright unless turned down from default. Not meaningfully louder than its 3-year-old predecessor, and the reviewer found the overall tuning a bit worse.

JBL Partybox 330: $549.95 Amazon B&H Photo Video eBay
Pros: A highly complete rolling party speaker: removable battery, telescoping handle and wheels, light show, Auracast, USB-C lossless and optical inputs, plus dual mic/guitar inputs. It supplies a little more power than the JBL Partybox 310 and JBL Partybox Stage 320, while reviewers report better midrange clarity than the older JBL Partybox 310 and the same deep party-speaker bass.
Cons: It remains very large and heavy, and the sound improvement over the JBL Partybox Stage 320 is modest rather than transformational. JBL removed the dedicated mic gain/control knobs found on earlier models, a real drawback for frequent karaoke use. Do not upgrade from a JBL Partybox 310 or JBL Partybox Stage 320 just for the higher watt figure.
