Short answer: the Stormbox Blast, and it isn’t a close call. The Blast ranks #2 of 113 boombox speakers at $159.99; the Rave Party 2 ranks #64 at $159.99, essentially the same price for a dramatically different result.
The Rave Party 2 doesn’t have a clear strength to point to. Our own pros entry for it is little more than a placeholder noting it may move around as better sound samples come in, while its cons flag a poor water rating and bass extension that doesn’t hold up.
The Blast earns its ranking with real numbers. Bass almost as deep as a JBL Partybox 100, a neutral default tuning, and a reviewer EQ that Tribit eventually adopted as the firmware default. None of that is matched here.
Buy the Stormbox Blast. At this price and in this class, there’s no real argument for the Rave Party 2 over it.
If battery life is a priority, the Tribit Stormbox Blast is rated for 30 hours versus 16 hours for the Soundcore Rave Party 2.
There is a real gap in water resistance: the Tribit Stormbox Blast at IPX7 (brief submersion) against the Soundcore Rave Party 2, which has IPX4 (splashing).
