The Soundcore Flare 2 is the better-sounding option. A 1.3 lbs (600 g) IPX7 speaker with front and rear drivers, LED lights, a 12-hour battery and PartyCast for up to 100 speakers. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Skullcandy Terrain lacks. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the Skullcandy Terrain. The catch: Rolled off treble.
The Skullcandy Terrain is the lighter option. IPX7 rated with a nylon wrist wrap for carrying. At 1 lbs (458 g) it weighs noticeably less than the Soundcore Flare 2 at 1.3 lbs (600 g). The tradeoff: No bass, very rolled off treble.
Buy the Skullcandy Terrain if you want one new; the Soundcore Flare 2 is discontinued, so only look for it used.
