Soundcore Boom 2 Pro vs Tribit Stormbox Blast

Last updated: October 11, 2026

Short answer: the Tribit Stormbox Blast. It ranks #2 of 98 boombox speakers by sound quality, rated 4.5/5, at $199.99. The Soundcore Boom 2 Pro ranks #38, rated 3.6/5, at $139.99, $60 cheaper, a saving that is not big enough to make up the sound-quality gap.

Soundcore Boom 2 Pro vs Tribit Stormbox Blast

The Soundcore Boom 2 Pro is the lighter option. A tougher version of the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus with IP68 dust and water protection instead of IPX7, a metal front grille, and a body that floats. At 8.4 lbs (3.8 kg) it weighs noticeably less than the Tribit Stormbox Blast at 12 lbs (5.45 kg). It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the Tribit Stormbox Blast lacks. It links with other speakers (PartyCast 2.0), which the Tribit Stormbox Blast cannot. The tradeoff: No side-by-side sound comparisons yet, so its rating is estimated from the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus, which shares its drivers and amplifier.

The Tribit Stormbox Blast is the better-sounding, longer-running option. Amazing speaker given its size, competes well with some speakers in the Party size class, bass almost as deep as a JBL Partybox 100. It is rated for 30 hours of battery against 20 for the Soundcore Boom 2 Pro. The tradeoff: Lacks a bit of detail compared to the top ranked speakers in other size categories, dip at 5.5kHz.

Buy the Tribit Stormbox Blast. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the $60 you would save on the Soundcore Boom 2 Pro does not close the gap.

Worth knowing: the Soundcore Boom 2 Pro has not been measured yet. Its rating is estimated from related models, with a likely range of 3.4 to 3.8, so treat this verdict as provisional.

Soundcore Boom 2 Pro ranking card

Pros: A tougher version of the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus with IP68 dust and water protection instead of IPX7, a metal front grille, and a body that floats. Inside it is the same 140W design with two woofers and two tweeters for real stereo, plenty of bass with BassUp, a 9 band app EQ, aux input, a detachable shoulder strap, a 10W USB-C power bank and PartyCast for linking more speakers.

Cons: No side-by-side sound comparisons yet, so its rating is estimated from the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus, which shares its drivers and amplifier. That means the same warm stock tuning with upper bass boost and a dip from the upper mids into the treble that dulls vocals, and owners say it needs EQ. Reviewers found it loses fullness and gets a bit fatiguing at its very highest volume.

Tribit Stormbox Blast ranking card

Newer model: the Tribit Stormbox Blast 2, ranked lower, rated 3.8/5, released Oct 2024. It adds AAC. See every Tribit Stormbox generation.

Same family: the Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 (smaller model, rated 4.5/5), the Tribit Stormbox Flow (smaller model, rated 3.5/5) and the Tribit Stormbox Pro (smaller model, rated 3.7/5).

Pros: Amazing speaker given its size, competes well with some speakers in the Party size class, bass almost as deep as a JBL Partybox 100. Quite neutral in the default and xbass modes, but try Oluv’s EQ or Alan Ross’s EQ for a slightly more neutral sound. Oluv has mentioned v3.5 now uses his EQ as the defaults and sounds extremely good. 2 different light modes or can be turned off. Measured bass extension of 43Hz (-10dB).

Cons: Lacks a bit of detail compared to the top ranked speakers in other size categories, dip at 5.5kHz. Without the above EQ this speaker would rank around #4 in the rankings. The curved underside of the handle makes it a little harder to grip and can be uncomfortable to carry long distances.
