Soundcore Boom 2 Pro vs Tribit Stormbox Blast 2

Last updated: October 11, 2026

Short answer: the Tribit Stormbox Blast 2. It ranks #31 of 98 boombox speakers by sound quality, rated 3.8/5, at $254.99. The Soundcore Boom 2 Pro ranks #38, rated 3.6/5, at $139.99, $115 cheaper, not enough of a saving to outweigh the sound-quality gap.

Soundcore Boom 2 Pro vs Tribit Stormbox Blast 2

The Soundcore Boom 2 Pro is the lighter choice. A tougher version of the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus with IP68 dust and water protection instead of IPX7, a metal front grille, and a body that floats. At 8.4 lbs (3.8 kg) it weighs much less than the Tribit Stormbox Blast 2 at 19.2 lbs (8.7 kg). It links with other speakers (PartyCast 2.0), which the Tribit Stormbox Blast 2 cannot. The tradeoff: No side-by-side sound comparisons yet, so its rating is estimated from the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus, which shares its drivers and amplifier.

The Tribit Stormbox Blast 2 is the longer-running pick. Pretty deep bass. It is rated for 30 hours of battery against 20 for the Soundcore Boom 2 Pro. The tradeoff: Sounds quite muddy with the boosted lower and upper bass.

Buy the Tribit Stormbox Blast 2. It is rated higher for sound quality, and saving $115 with the Soundcore Boom 2 Pro does not make up for the sound-quality gap.

About the ratings: the Soundcore Boom 2 Pro’s rating is estimated from measured siblings and predecessors rather than its own measurements, with a likely range of 3.4 to 3.8, so this verdict could change once it is measured.

Soundcore Boom 2 Pro ranking card

Pros: A tougher version of the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus with IP68 dust and water protection instead of IPX7, a metal front grille, and a body that floats. Inside it is the same 140W design with two woofers and two tweeters for real stereo, plenty of bass with BassUp, a 9 band app EQ, aux input, a detachable shoulder strap, a 10W USB-C power bank and PartyCast for linking more speakers.

Cons: No side-by-side sound comparisons yet, so its rating is estimated from the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus, which shares its drivers and amplifier. That means the same warm stock tuning with upper bass boost and a dip from the upper mids into the treble that dulls vocals, and owners say it needs EQ. Reviewers found it loses fullness and gets a bit fatiguing at its very highest volume.

Older model: the Tribit Stormbox Blast (ranked higher, rated 4.5/5). See every Tribit Stormbox generation.

Pros: Pretty deep bass. Measured bass extension of 40Hz (-10dB).

Cons: Sounds quite muddy with the boosted lower and upper bass. Boosted treble around 6kHz. Xbass mode makes it sound even more muddy. Nowhere near as neutral and balanced as the first Blast and a big downgrade unless you only care about max volume
