Short answer: the Soundcore 2, if you are buying new. The Tribit Xsound Surf measures as well as it (#103 vs #105 of 179 medium speakers, 3.0/5 vs 3.0/5) but is discontinued, so only consider it used; the Soundcore 2 is still sold new at $29.99.
Both have the same core weakness: shallow bass. Neither speaker’s cons mention much beyond that, which at this price is close to the whole story. Neither is meant to be a bass speaker.
The Surf can pair with a second unit for real stereo, something the Soundcore 2 doesn’t offer, and our notes say it’s about 20% louder than its own Xsound Go sibling at the same volume setting. The Soundcore 2 counters with a longer claimed battery, over 24 hours from its 5200mAh cell, in a lighter overall package.
Buy the Xsound Surf for the slightly better ranking, the lower price, and the stereo pairing option. Buy the Soundcore 2 if the longer battery claim matters more to you.
