Short answer: the Partybox 130, it ranks much higher and costs less. The 130 ranks #24 and the Mix ranks #7 out of 39 party speakers, with the 130 priced $349.05 below the Mix, so there isn’t much of a tradeoff here.
The gap comes down to raw output and tuning. The 130 pushes 200W through two 5.2” woofers and two tweeters, nearly triple the Mix’s 72W from a single 10” woofer, and its own review calls the sound quite neutral. The Mix’s review notes it can sound somewhat bright in the treble and doesn’t reach the bass depth of higher-ranked speakers in its class. The 130 isn’t flawless either: its cons note it is boomier and less clear than the smaller Partybox 120.
The Mix does win on a few specific points. It carries an IP65 rating against the 130’s IPX4, so it tolerates dust and heavier water exposure better, and it runs about 40 hours on a charge against the 130’s 15 hours, backed by 65W USB-C fast charging on its swappable battery. It also supports TeamUp linking with up to five other SKAA-equipped Soundboks speakers, and its high-efficiency drivers are rated to reach 2 to 3 times the volume of typical speakers at the same wattage.
What the 130 adds that the Mix lacks entirely: a companion app with 7-band EQ, a handle and wheels for moving it, dual microphone and guitar inputs with a karaoke echo mode, TWS pairing, and USB playback.
Buy the Partybox 130 for the better sound quality and lower price. It’s the clear choice unless the Mix’s specific strengths matter to you.
Buy the Mix only if you specifically need its longer battery life, tougher IP65 rating, or SKAA multi-speaker linking, and are willing to pay several times as much for them.

JBL Partybox 130: $449.95 Amazon eBay
Pros: A relatively manageable 11.3kg PartyBox with removable battery, foldable handle, light show, USB audio and modern JBL connectivity. Independent reviews describe it as unusually balanced and powerful for its format, while owner feedback praises clear voices and deep bass.
Cons: It is still bass-forward and less clear than the PartyBox 120 in direct comparisons. The smaller battery and stripped-back controls/features make it a questionable upgrade when the 120 is similarly priced. JBL’s wired daisy chain only works with other JBL speakers.
