Short answer: the Soundboks 4 for outright loudness and durability, the Soundboks Go if you want a smaller and cheaper Soundboks. These rank #6 and #25 of 39 party speakers, for a price difference of $400.
The 4 is tied for the loudest battery-powered speaker overall. It hits 126dB max volume against the Go’s 121dB, and pairs two 10 inch woofers with a compression driver, versus the Go’s single 10 inch woofer and tweeter. Both share the same 40Hz to 20kHz rated frequency response and near-identical measured bass extension, so the extra driver mostly buys headroom rather than deeper bass. Neither speaker is the pick if outright neutrality is the priority: our notes place both behind the top Partyboxes on neutrality and bass.
Size, water resistance, and app control separate them further. The 4 is rated IP65 for water jets, has an app with EQ, and supports TWS pairing, none of which the Go offers. The Go counters with a more portable and durable build using ABS polycarbonate with rubber bumpers, in a noticeably smaller cabinet at roughly two-thirds the weight.
Everything else matches: both run 40 hours rated battery life, use a removable battery, support SOUNDBOKS TeamUp linking for up to five speakers, and share the same guitar and microphone-adjacent aux input setup.
One note: the Soundboks Go is discontinued and no longer widely available new.
Buy the Soundboks 4 if you want the loudest, most durable option and don’t mind the larger size and higher price.
Buy the Soundboks Go if you want a more portable, less expensive Soundboks and can accept somewhat less volume and no app control.
There is a real gap in water resistance: the Soundboks 4 at IP65 (water jets) against the Soundboks Go, which has no water resistance.

Pros: Exceptional 40-hour battery life at mid-volume (10 hours at full volume), swappable design (second battery $200 available). 7.8Ah Li-ion with external charging option and pass-through charging capability. 121dB max volume (Bass+ mode). Premium audio quality, durable ABS polycarbonate with rubberized bumpers. Portable enough for vehicle adventures. High efficiency drivers reach 2-3x the volume of typical speakers for the same wattage. Measured bass extension of 55Hz (-10dB).
