Short answer: the Sony ULT Field 1. It ranks #99 of 177 medium speakers by sound quality, rated 3.1/5, at $108. The Walla Sound ranks #163, rated 2.2/5, at $49.99, $58.01 cheaper, not enough of a saving to outweigh the sound-quality gap.
The Sony ULT Field 1 is the better-sounding, longer-running choice. A tough, waterproof small speaker that survives drops, with long real world battery life and stereo pairing. It is rated for 12 hours of battery against 8 for the Walla Sound. It is rated IP67 against IPX5 for the Walla Sound. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Walla Sound lacks. The catch: Upper midrange peak, rolled off treble.
The Walla Sound is the lighter option. A small shockproof speaker with an aux input, microSD playback and a built in microphone. At 0.7 lbs (300 g) it weighs much less than the Sony ULT Field 1 at 1.4 lbs (650 g). It keeps a wired aux input, which the Sony ULT Field 1 lacks. Watch for: No bass, gets distorted when turned up.
Buy the Sony ULT Field 1. It is rated higher for sound quality, and saving $58.01 with the Walla Sound does not make up for the sound-quality gap.
