The LG’s wheels and handle make it easier to roll out, but its treble is recessed and its bass is not as deep as a Partybox 310. The Sony’s 20W three-way design with dual passive radiators is well balanced, though not as loud and not as deep in bass as a Partybox 100 or 110.
Buy the Sony SRS-XP500 only if you find one used in good condition; both are discontinued, and it is the better rated of the two. For a new speaker, start with the Sony ULT Tower 7 instead.
Water resistance is not close: the LG XL7 is rated at IPX4 (splashing), well ahead of the Sony SRS-XP500 at no water resistance.
