Short answer: the Sony SRS-XG300 for features, the LG Xboom XG7 for price. The Sony’s IP67 rating, Bluetooth 5.2 multipoint and LDAC support come with a #70 placing, but our notes call it expensive and hollow-sounding, with an upper-mid peak and shallow bass. The XG7 costs $99 less, claims a 24-hour battery and plays surprisingly loud and deep for its size, with a peaky midrange and rolled-off treble.
Buy the Sony SRS-XG300 only if you find one used in good condition; both are discontinued, and it is the better rated of the two. For a new speaker, start with the Tribit Stormbox Lava instead.

Pros: IP67 dust/waterproof rating. Bluetooth 5.2 with multipoint pairing, LDAC codec support. Retractable carry handle for easy portability. Big boomy bass-forward sound, excellent for parties. Fast-charging: 10 minutes gives 70 minutes playback. Stamina mode optimizes battery. Measured bass extension of 54Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Overly expensive. Bass not as deep as competitors. Upper mids peak. Hollow sounding. Rolled off treble. Not much clarity. Does not float. Speaker will not remain at max volume and will turn itself down automatically. Discontinued.
