Short answer: the Doss Soundbox XL on price and features, the Sony SRS-XB43 on sound quality. The Doss brings 32W output, 100dB max volume, IPX4 splashproofing, a microSD slot, a dual woofer setup with subwoofer, a mic and TWS for $74.01 less, though it sounds a little hollow. The XB43’s full, warm sound and deep, rich bass come with the caveat that it is not as loud as others in the category.
Buy the Doss Soundbox XL, since the Sony SRS-XB43 is discontinued and only worth hunting down used.
Water resistance is not close: the Sony SRS-XB43 is rated at IP67 (brief submersion), well ahead of the Doss Soundbox XL at IPX4 (splashing).
