Sony LSPX-S3 vs Rocksteady Stadium 2.0

Last updated: October 11, 2026

Short answer: the Sony LSPX-S3. It ranks #68 of 167 medium speakers by sound quality, rated 3.5/5, at $474.89. The Rocksteady Stadium 2.0 ranks #87, rated 3.2/5, at $399.99, $74.90 cheaper, not enough of a saving to outweigh the sound-quality gap.

Sony LSPX-S3 vs Rocksteady Stadium 2.0

What the Sony LSPX-S3 does well: Unique organic glass tube design vibrates to act as a 360-degree tweeter. Watch for: No water or dust resistance rating (delicate glass construction).

The Rocksteady Stadium 2.0 is the longer-running option. A 2.1 kit of two battery satellites and a battery subwoofer that link wirelessly without Wi-Fi, at up to 150 ft range. It is rated for 30 hours of battery against 8 for the Sony LSPX-S3. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Sony LSPX-S3 lacks. The catch: No independent measurements yet, so its sound and output can’t be compared with ranked speakers.

Buy the Sony LSPX-S3. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the $74.90 you would save on the Rocksteady Stadium 2.0 does not close the gap.

About the ratings: neither speaker has been measured yet, so both ratings are estimated from measured siblings and predecessors (likely ranges: Sony LSPX-S3 3.1 to 3.9; Rocksteady Stadium 2.0 2.8 to 3.6). Treat this verdict as provisional.

Rocksteady Stadium 2.0 ranking card

Older model: the Rocksteady Stadium Speakers and Subwoofer (rated 3.2/5). See every Rocksteady Stadium generation.

Pros: A 2.1 kit of two battery satellites and a battery subwoofer that link wirelessly without Wi-Fi, at up to 150 ft range. Each satellite pairs a 30mm tweeter and 70mm mid/bass driver with two passive radiators, and Rocksteady claims up to 30 hours of battery life, 102dB maximum output from each satellite and bass down to 30Hz from the subwoofer. Extra speakers and subwoofers can join the same system, and each unit has an aux input and USB-C charging.

Cons: No independent measurements yet, so its sound and output can’t be compared with ranked speakers. There is no official IP water resistance rating, and the subwoofer is rated at only 96dB maximum output.
